On October 25, 2022 West Virginia University College of Law professor Kirsha Trychta spoke at a Domestic and Sexual Violence Survivors' Rights Seminar on the WVU campus. The event was sponsored by Omega Phi Alpha. Speakers addressed "advocacy for survivors and the history behind this movement, community organizing, prevention in an intersectional and equitable way, societal level risk and protective factors of Gender Based Violence and Interpersonal violence".
Professor Trychta presentation focused on the intersection of sexual violence and the law. Specifically, how a case proceeds through the criminal justice system, balancing the rights of the complainant and the rights of the accused.

West Virginia University College of Law professor and Director of the Academic Excellence Center Kirsha Trychta has been selected to serve as secretary of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Academic Support. Professor Trychta will serve a three-year term in succeeding positions. First, as secretary, then as chair-elect, and finally as section chair. Professor Trychta will take office in January 2020.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Professor Kirsha Trychta spoke at the 7th Annual Association of Academic Support Educators Conference. The conference was hosted by Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington. Professor Trychta's talk was titled "Beyond the Law Review Article: Engaging in Alternative Forms of Legal Scholarship". The session was an interctive workshop aimed at helping academic support professors strike a balance between engaging in scholarship and providing robust academic support services, both of which benefit the professor and the law school.
