Research Repository Update: July 2022

During July 2022, the contents of the WVU College of Law community in the Research Repository @ WVU had 10,879 new full-text downloads of the 5,698 total works archived in our collections. Readers came from 728 different institutions across 136 different countries. This brings the total full-text downloads of scholarship from the College of Law collections to 375,956.

Law faculty scholarship was downloaded a total of 2,780 times in July 2022. The most downloaded articles from the faculty scholarship collection last month are:

WVU College of Law SSRN Paper Series Publishes Volume 10, Issue 2

The West Virginia University College of Law Research Paper Series published Volume 10, Issue 2 on July 26, 2022. The following authors were featured for their new scholarship recently published to SSRN:

James J. Friedberg, States and Laws, Jews and Palestinians: Yadgar's Traditionalist Alternative. A Reflection on Yadgar, Israel's Jewish Identity Crisis (Cambridge, 2020).

Librarian Nicholas Stump Presents on Critical Legal Research at the Global Meeting on Law & Society and AALL Annual Meeting

West Virginia University College of Law librarian Nicholas Stump recently spoke at two different conferences on the topic of critical legal research. On July 13, 2022, Mr. Stump presented at the Global Meeting on Law & Society. This event is hosted by the Law & Society Association approximately every five years.  Mr. Stump spoke on a panel titled "Sites of Authority and Contestation in Global Law and Political Economy", giving a talk titled "An Ecosocialist and Critical Legal Research Approach."

On July 18, 2022, Mr. Stump presented "Critical Legal Research: Theory and Practice" at the American Association of Law Libraries Annual Meeting as part of a program titled "Critical Race Theory in Law Librarianship."  

Professor James Van Nostrand Presents at 2022 IUCN Academy of Environmental Law Colloquium

West Virginia University College of Law Professor James Van Nostrand recently presented at the 2022 IUCN Academy of Environmental Law Colloquium. The colloquium was hosted by the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia from July 11 to July 15, 2022. This the 19th colloquium organized by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Professor Van Nostrand presented on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. His presentation was titled "Reflecting National Security Interests in Calculating a Resource’s Resilience Value.”
