Research Repository Update: February 2023

During February 2023, the contents of the   WVU College of Law community in the Research Repository @ WVU had 13,487 new full-text downloads of the 5,746 total works archived in our collections. Readers came from 1,198 different institutions across 169 different countries. This brings the total full-text downloads of scholarship from the College of Law collections to 475,725.

Law faculty scholarship was downloaded a total of 3,459 times in February 2023. The most downloaded articles from the  faculty scholarship collection last month are:

Professor Sean Tu Publishes New Article on Patenting Inhaler Devices in Chest, Journal of the American College of Chest Physicians

West Virginia College of Law professor S. Sean Tu recently published new scholarship in Chest, the journal of the American College of Chest Physicians. The article is titled "Patenting strategies on inhaler delivery devices." Professor Tu co-authored the article with Brandon J. Demkowicz, Aaron S. Kesselheim, M.D., J.D., M.P.H. and William B. Feldman, M.D., D.Phil., M.P.H., colleagues at the Program On Regulation, Therapeutics, And Law (PORTAL) at Harvard Medical School, and Michael A. Carrier, J.D. of Rutgers Law School.  

The article pre-print was published online on February 25, 2023 and will subsequently appear in volume 163 of the journal later in 2023.

Professor Amy Cyphert Joins Expert Panel on the Use of GPT-3 in Law

On February 8, 2023, West Virginia University College of Law professor Amy Cyphert joined a panel of experts to discuss the implications of GPT-3 in law. Professor Cyphert was joined by speakers Matthias Braun of the Universität Bonn, Ramak Molavi Vass, author of The Law Technologist, and Laura Weidinger of DeepMind and the University of Cambridge.

A flyer for the program titled "Unlocking the Potential of GPT-3 in the Legal Sphere".  The program date is February 8, 2023 and the speakers were Matthias Braun, Amy Cyphert, Mamak Molavi Vasse'i and Laura Weidinger.
