Professor Anne Lofaso Authors Blog Series on the Legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

West Virginia College of Law Professor Anne Marie Lofaso will author a new blog series hosted by the Oxford Human Rights Hub. The series is called "The Legacy of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg" and will delve into the contributions of Justice Ginsburg in the area of human rights. Professor Lofaso co-authored the introductory post with Rachel J. Wechsler, a Research Fellow at the NYU School of Law Center on the Administration of Criminal Law. Introduction: The “Notorious R.B.G.” was posted on November 5, 2020.

Professor Lofaso Publishes Chapter in Forthcoming Cambridge Handbook of U.S. Labor Law

West Virginia University College of Law professor Anne Marie Lofaso has contributed to a forthcoming book on U.S. Labor Law to by published by Cambridge University Press. The book is titled The Cambridge Handbook of U.S. Labor Law for the Twenty-First Century . Professor Lofaso wrote chapter 20: "Leveraging secondary activity within and outside legal boundaries". The book will be available in December 2019.

Professor Anne Lofaso Speaks at American Constitution Society Event on Income Inequality

Today, West Virginia University College of Law professor Anne Marie Lofaso will speak on a panel discussing how law can address income inequality in the United States. The event is organized by the American Constitution Society in Washington, DC and takes place on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

The event is titled "Mind the Gap: How Law Can Address Income Inequality in America". Professor Lofaso will be joined by fellow panelists Lisa Cylar Barrett, Director of Policy, NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc., Lina Khan, Academic Fellow, Columbia Law School and Counsel, U.S. House Subcommittee on Antitru st, Commercial and Administrative Law , Ganesh Sitaraman, Chancellor Faculty Fellow and Professor of Law, Vanderbilt Law School, and Dora Chen, Associate General Counsel, Service Employees International Union , Moderator.

Professor Anne Lofaso Authors Report on Civil Rights Impacts from Collateral Consequences in WV

West Virginia University College of Law professor Anne Marie Lofaso recently authored a report as a member of the West Virginia State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. The report presents information on the civil rights impacts of collateral consequences of a criminal record in West Virginia. It discusses community reentry issues like employment, licensing, housing, and access to public benefits. The committee makes recommendations based on information gathered by public briefings and other documentation.
