WVU Law at SEALS, Friday July 28, 2023

This week, WVU Law faculty members are presenting and discussing their scholarship at the 2023 SEALS Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. On Friday, July 28, 2023, Professors Elaine Waterhouse Wilson and Valarie Blake participated in a work-in-progress workshop and a panel discussion, respectively. 

Professor Wilson participated in a workshop as part of the Works-in-Progress Series at the conference.  The workshop gathered scholars in the fields of interdisciplinary tax and corporate law to both give and receive reviews of in-progress scholarship. The session was moderated by Professor Andrew Appleby of Stetson University College of Law.

Professor Wilson Speaks at Pittsburgh Tax Review Symposium

West Virginia University College of Law professor Elaine Waterhouse Wilson recently spoke at a symposium, "The 1969 Tax Reform Act and Charities: Fifty Years Later", hosted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Pittsburgh Tax Review. The symposium featured experts on the taxation of charities and non-profits reflecting on the tax legislation and its impact on the field fifty years after enactment. Professor Wilson participated in a panel on "Regulating Charitable Actors". The symposium took place on November 1, 2019.

This week, WVU Law faculty members are presenting and discussing their scholarship at the SEALS-Annual-Conference-Program_2019 in Boca Raton, Florida. On Friday, August 2, 2019 Professors Elaine Waterhouse Wilson and Patrick McGinley participated in discussion groups and panels at the conference.

Professor McGinley spoke on a panel titled "The Opioid Crisis—Legal and Health Implications" moderated by Professor Theodore Rave of University of Houston Law Center.
