Professor Jena Martin featured in WVU Magazine

West Virginia University College of Law professor Jena Martin is featured in the latest issue of WVU Magazine. The article, "Holding Back the Flood", discusses the issues raised in Professor Martin's book, When the Levees Break: Re- visioning Regulation of the Securities Markets , co-authored with Karen Kunz. The book proposes solutions to resolve how the laws governing the securities market have fallen behind the technological advances that have changed modern securities trading.

Professor Caroline Osborne Presents at Teaching the Teachers Conference

West Virginia University College of Law professor Caroline Osborne presented at the inaugural Teaching the Teachers Conference on Friday, May 31, 2019 in Atlanta, GA. The conference is focused on instructional philosophy, techniques, and assessment for law librarians by law librarians. Professor Osborne's session was titled "Lessons Learned – Developing Strategies to Address When You Go from Brilliant to Not in Seconds".

Professor Oliva selected as 2019 Skelton Award Winner by the Truman Foundation

West Virginia University College of Law Professor Jennifer Oliva was selected as the 2019 Skelton Award winner by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. The award recognizes a Truman Scholar who is a current or former member of the armed forces and has made significant contributions to public service and the Truman community. Professor Oliva was elected as a Truman Scholar while a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Professor Oliva will receive the award during the Truman Summer Institute in June 2019.

Professor Richardson Delivers Talk at Exeter University on Rural America and Appalachia

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Professor Jesse Richardson spoke at the University of Exeter on “Hillbilly Resurrection: a critical look at socio-political-economic-legal issues in rural America through the lens of Appalachia”. Professor Richardson was hosted by the Centre for Rural Policy Research in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies.
