Research Repository Update: November 2023

During November 2023, the contents of the  WVU College of Law community in the Research Repository @ WVU had 22,706 new full-text downloads of the 5,790 total works archived in our collections. Readers came from 1,557 different institutions across 168 different countries and territories. This brings the total full-text downloads of scholarship from the College of Law collections to 608,093.

Professor Anne Marie Lofaso Publishes New Review at Jotwell

West Virginia University College of Law professor Anne Marie Lofaso recently published a new review at JOTWELL. Professor Lofaso's review is titled "Fitting a Square Peg into a Round Hole: The Myriad Problems with Using Make-Whole Relief to Remedy Breaches of Labor Rights" in which she discusses "Consequences of a Mismatch: Remedial Philosophy and Statutory Rights Under the National Labor Relations Act" by Rita Trivedi. "Consequences of a Mismatch..." appears in volume 27 of the Advances in Industrial and Labor Relations.

Professor Anne Marie Lofaso Comments on Muldrow v. City of St. Louis, Missouri in PREVIEW of United States Supreme Court Cases

West Virginia University College of Law professor  Anne Marie Lofaso recently published in the ABA's PREVIEW of United States Supreme Court Cases. Professor Lofaso comments on an upcoming employment law case, Muldrow v. City of St. Louis, Missouri, Docket No. 22-193, to be heard in the October 2023 term. The article is titled "Does Title VII Prohibit Discrimination in Employment-Transfer Decisions Only if They Cause Materially Significant Disadvantages for Employees?" Professor Lofaso's contribution appears in volume 52, issue 3 of the journal, published in November 2023.

Professor Jena Martin Presents at University of Ottawa in Business and Human Rights Speakers Series

West Virginia University College of Law professor Jena Martin spoke at the University of Ottawa on October 30, 2023. Professor Martin's talk was hosted by the university's Human Rights Research and Education Centre as part of the Gordon F. Henderson Chair Business & Human Rights Speaker Series. The title was "Environmental, social, goverance v. business and human rights frameworks: A taxonomy."

Professor Sean Tu Publishes Two New Articles in JAMA

West Virginia University College of Law professor S. Sean Tu recently published two new Research Letters in JAMA.  Both were published online on Nevember 13, 2023 and appear in volume 330, issue 21 of the journal.

"Ancillary Product Patents to Extend Biologic Patent Life" is co-authored with Rachel Goode (Fresenius Kabi USA) and William B. Feldman (Brigham and Women's Hospital). "Inequitable Conduct and Invalidation of Patents Related to Food and Drug Administration–Regulated Products" is co-authored with Carolnie Leadmon (WVU), C. Joseph Ross Daval and Aaron S. Kesselheim (both of Brigham and Women's Hospital).
