West Virginia University College of Law professor Valarie Blake recently published new scholarship on the opioid crisis and health reform in the Journal of Law in Society. Professor Blake's article is titled "The Opioid Crisis: Lessons for Health Reform" and appears in the summer 2021 issue of volume 21.
From the abstract:
The opioid crisis shines a powerful lens on health reform and which aspects of the Affordable Care Act have best served those suffering from substance use disorder. This article explores the opioid crisis as an example of where the ACA has excelled and fallen short and what must be done in future efforts at health reform to ensure adequate access to care for people with opioid use disorder, as well as for all Americans.
